Area of a Rectangle

The area of a rectangle is calculated by multiplying the base by the height of the rectangle.

base * height = b(h)

or

length * width = l(w)

  Alternate formulas can be used in this case. This is because base, height, length and width are interchangeable for this figure.  Height : length :: base : width.
